Established in 1950 as Admar High School, Poornprajna Pre University College, Adamaru has evolved into a prestigious institution over the decades. Commencing with secondary education, it transitioned into a higher secondary school in 1964, offering a one-year Pre-University course with examinations conducted by Mysore University. By 1972, it transformed into a Junior College providing comprehensive two-year pre-university courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science.
Nestled amidst natural beauty, the institution boasts a serene and tranquil environment conducive to focused student study. It marks the humble beginnings of Sri HH Vibudesha Teertha Swamiji of Sri Adamaru Matha. Under the visionary leadership of President Sri HH Eeshapriya Teertha Swamiji of Sri Adamaru Matha and Honorary Secretary Sri Sridhar K Rao, the college is undergoing rapid development.
The aim is to transform it into a model PU College. Currently, three new buildings are underway: one for the college and the others dedicated to boys’ and girls’ hostels. The college premises feature spacious classrooms, an audio-visual hall, an auditorium, a library, playgrounds, and a dedicated computer section. Moreover, well-equipped and expansive laboratories cater to Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science disciplines.
Alumni fondly remember their time here and frequently revisit the institution. The teaching faculty, highly qualified and experienced, demonstrate dedication and wholehearted commitment to nurturing students’ holistic development. Many hold PhDs in their respective fields, enriching the academic landscape. The students themselves possess diverse talents and abilities, contributing to a vibrant learning community.
